Yupz...!! I'm back, in more than one way. I'm back to Singapore and I'm also back to my blogging!! As I mentioned before in my previous entry, I needed some time to do some soul-searching. Well, after the holidaying, I think I've found the answer I'm looking for, and so, yeah, I back to my blogging ways again. :p
Bintan Trip (20-22 Dec '05)
Went with Ben and Joey to a Bintan get-away. Really enjoyed myself there, despite the little sickness and tiredness that came our way. The weather had been kind to us. Although its a monsoon season, it only starts to rain on our last day when we went indoor. Composed a song for the Phinz and the inspiration came on the second day while we were sun-tanning. (I must admit though that the sea breeze isn't the only thing that inspired me... Hehe!!)
The 1st day was more of getting used to the area. Went for the scheldued massage at night after our great dinner at Bayan Tree. Italian food if I'm not mistaken and as usual, the portion could be more, but I guessed its ok since we're going massage after that. Joey's veal set was the best and I personally like the white wine that I've ordered.
On the 2nd day, I woke up early to see the sunrise by the beach and also to pick seashell. After breakfast, all of us went sun-tanning and splashing at the beach. Later that, went cycling with Ben. (Ubin is more challenging!!) Had our dinner at the seafood kelong. Joey got car-sick as we went for our dinner but was ok after we went back to the resort. After fooling around, taking pics after pics in the room, I went for a night swim at the swimming pool. So shiok!! Had the pool all to myself!!
On the 3rd day, after checking out and place our stuff with the counter, we went to the the sea-side bar to had homemade ice-cream before heading towards the beach and just lay down on the sun-chair and enjoy the cool sea-breeze till we doze off. Stayed until I find the weather to be too cloudy for my liking. Thankfully, I was right and just as we went to the lobby, it started to pour. Had our lunch and at the resort itself. Then, Ben and Joey doze off again at the lobby as we waited for our transport to the jetty. Reached Singapore around 7.45pm. Send Joey to see a doc and then home before me and Ben head home by cab.
The seaview which is just a few walk away from our suite
After-dinner photo at Bayan Tree
A teapot of the specially-brewed ginger tea after the relaxing Fusion massages
Enjoying myself at our very own jacuzzi right at our balcony!!
Joey and I enjoying our free ice honey dew while sun-tanning. Too bad Ben doesn't like fruit!!
Ben and I went for our Adventure Cyling Ride around Bintan... after sun-tanning!!
Going crazy on 2nd night!! Photo-taking madness took place that night where we posed for ridculous and funny shots!! (can you even tell Joey wasn't feeling well just minutes ago?!?!)
Last meal at Bintan. Lunch at Angsana's Cove. My personal favourite meal for the whole trip.
1) I will definitely come back to Bintan again.
2) The service we received is the best I've ever enjoyed.
4) Sun-tanning for too long isn't a bright idea!! (as of now, I'm shedding skin not unlike a snake!)
Penang (24-26 Dec '05)
The first day started off with a long, long coach ride to our hotel. We left home at 5am and we only reached our hotel at 9pm!! The whole ride is a real torture for me... I hate long bus ride and it was worsen when the whole ride was peppered with Hokkien oldies, Techew Opera (YES!! OPERA!! FAINTZ!!) and super old Chinese oldies, (mainly singing praise of the Communist leader Mao!!) karaoke, with the chief-in-crime being my father!! I almost wanted to die... GOD!! I thought I'm there to relax, not to suffer from insomina!! Could hardly sleep throughout the whole trip, with the only reprise came from the interval stops for us to relive ourselves. Before reaching our hotel, we had our dinner at a local open space eatery place (very similar to the old old Newton Place). Finally something to cheer about as the local delights (Asam Laksa, Kangkong cuttle fish, Penang Fried Kway Tiao and Noodle, Penang Rojak) was really really superb!! When we finally reached the hotel, I decided to stay at my room and watch Harry Potter while my family and the rest of the tour group (all of them are my parents long-time friends) went shoppping. Managed to go down to the pub at the hotel and join in the count-down party. Not very wild but fun enough. Glup a few beers with those fun-loving ang mohs. Too badz the camera was with my parents and couldn't take any photo with them...
Second day was full of visiting temple after temple... Nuts!! Look all the same to me... To make matter worse, we got super lousy service from the waiteress while we having lunch at this 60th floor restaurant called the Komtar. Make me miss Bintan and the great service I've enjoyed... I really wondered if working for long period at the heady height have cause the waiteress to have oxygen-debt to her brain!! And the meal wasn't that impressive either... Went shopping with my parents after our dinner. Bought a U2 jeans (Dun ask me why I didn't bought it in Singapore) and we had a very special ice-kacang, Penang style, while we waited for my jeans to be altered. By the time I went back to the hotel, I've completed the 2nd song I'm composing for the Phinz. Called back to Singapore at 10.05pm and wished the Phinz, Limin and Yong Kang a merry christmas as I knew they are celebrating and having gift exchange. Heard that I've received Jilian's gift while Peiyih got mine!! (I have 1 more special gift for everyone!! Will pass it to all when I have the opportunity!)
Last day was the best of all. The group decided to give some of the tourist attraction a missed (thank Gohonzon!!), and head straight to Ipoh. On our way, we visited the Perak Cave. It is by the far, the best place we had visited for the past three days. Although the cave also have the regular buddha and goddess statues, but at least its natural and we get to climb up the cave. Of course, the monkeys at the outside of the cave is also quite an attraction. Had our lunch at a Ipoh restaurant called Kam Ling. The Ipoh Hor Fun was marvellous and I had a second helping. The rest of the food was also much better than what we had at Penang's restaurants. Dinner was at a Yong Ping's restaurant, whose name I've forgotten, serving Fuchou's style fare. Not too bad but still prefer the one we had earlier for lunch. Went back to Singapore with surprising ease as we did not encounter much jam as was expected. Came back home at 10.45pm, which is definitely a record since I've never came back home from a Malaysia holiday trip so early before...
The Indian Temple at the top of Bukit Bendera
Took a picture with my horoscope at Ji Le Temple (极乐寺)
The giagantic Guan Yin Bronze statue at Ji Le Temple.
Inside the Burmese Temple
Thai Temple
Snake Temple... Sick of me showing you temples?!?! Now you know how I felt!!
The Perak Cave (霹雳洞)I mentioned earlier. This is the entrance, of course.
My favourite pic for the whole trip. This was taken at the top of the Perak Cave. Haha!! Majiam gain enlightenment after all the climbing of steep and slippery steps to reach the top.
1) Muz remember to bring own's karaoke disc if travelling with the same group again.
2) I'm not a fan of temples...
3) In Penang, the best food aren't found in restaurants (Neither is the service).
4) Never to go Malaysia again during Christmas period again!! I missed my friends in Singapore throughout the trip...
12:24 AM
I'm taking a break from blogging... Will I ever return? I don't know... Once I sorted out my thoughts, I will then make a decision. Need to do some soul-searching myself...
4:36 PM
Today's Ubin outing sure isn't a enjoyable one... When we reached Ubin, Jane lose her really expensive sunglasses. Then, within five min of cycling, Joey's bike chain got problem. Luckily, its easily fixable and we carry on, not knowing the unfortunate events awaiting us... When we reached Tanjong Beach, I slipped into a pothole and scratched myself. (And for some reason, nobody noticed it until much much later...). But the worst is yet to come... When we are cycling back from Tanjong Beach, Red had a very fall. Got a ugly patch of bruise cut which just missed his right eye, and got cut over his hands and legs. The bike that Red rode was also badly damaged. with the handle broken and the brake totally spoilt. We headed back to the jetty and the bicycle rental shop was kind enough to let us use their first aid kit and also not charging us for the damaged bicycle. The lao ban nian and the staff there were very kind and attentive to us and we're grateful for the gesture shown to us.
Yong Kang and Red took the boat back to mainland first and went to Changi Hospital for a check-up and to dress-up the wounds, after the inital trip to the clinic at Loyang Point but was then closed. Joey and her friend, Qihui (hopefully I got the name correctly...hehe!!) went down to Changi Hospital later while Ben sent Jilian home and Jane and I took a train back to Jurong East from Pasir Ris MRT. However, before we took the train home, we went back to the shopping centre and search in vain for Jane's missing sunglasses. We came to the conclusion that it might have drop in the cab when she went to the jetty earlier this noon.
When I reached Jurong East, decided to go look for Peiyih at IMM for my dinner. That's when I received a sms from Yong Kang that Red might not be able to Ben, Joey and I for the Bintan trip on Tuesday and asked us to look for a replacement and that he is willing to pay half on the expense. The first person I thought was the girl in front of me there and then -- Peiyih. But she decline the offer, saying she has no money. Further call to Hui Hsien but also realised that she will be working and won't be able to go with us. Later, Peiyih and I was brainstorming as to who could possible go, but to no avail. In my heart anyway, I can think of only Peiyih, Jilian and Yong Kang as sensible replacement, but the best would be that Red is still able to go with us...
9:30 PM
What a hectic day!! Was suppose to go to school but on my way to school, I realised that Lydia, Audrey Jerlin and Leon all decided to skip school today... Well, since all my kakis aren't going, it simply encourage me to skip my lesson too. (Anyway, I wasn't too keen to go myself, especially when the lecturer simply read off from the lecture notes...). Thus, make a sudden change of plan and instead went to IMM to visit Peiyih and see how she's doing at her new job... Haha!! Business wasn't that good, especially since the location of her booth is facing Giant's cashier exit and along the corrider towards the toilet. Poor 'fengshui' if you ask me!! HAHA!! Stand there talking to her for almost an hour and only one person actually stops and take a look at the product Peiyih was selling... and thats was when I was about to leave!! (Hmm... maybe I'm the poor fengshui?? HAHA!! Hope not...). Peiyih, jia you orh!! And SMILE MORE!! Hehe!!
After my visiting Peiyih, I went straight to TBSC and watched the SDGM. Very nice show put up!! Especially like the items put up by SP (a rendition of STORM) and the puppet show by NTU!! (Great job, Ben, Evvone, Peijun, Wenhui and Sihui!!). Later, a slide show was put up to show the activities that has occured for the past one year for SSA. The Phinz (well, minus me who was sick then and Jilian who joined us later) all got their fame in the slide show for our involvement in Friday Rendezvous!! Peiyih and Hui Hsien one was beautiful, Red one was cool and the whole Phinz one was really, really NICE!! Feel so sorry for myself that I couldn't be involved..
Went to dinner with my parents at Jurong Point after the SDGM. Went shoppping for a digital camera later and only got myself pissed off by the staff at Havey Norman. Ask the staff about the specification of the camera and he actually told me to go check it out myself in the internet!! That's the worst service I've ever experienced in Singapore! Was so hopping mad!! So despite me being really interested in the offer put up by Harvey Norman, I decided that I rather pay more than being treated with this kind of lousy service... Went to Court instead. Went straight to the Ixus 55 ($649) I was intending to buy but the FRIENDLY staff there recommended me Sumsung Digimax 150($499) instead, which incidentally have the same specification as Canon Ixus 55. Bought another 512 SD card and the total cost($588) is still cheaper than Canon Ixus 55. But man, the free gifts that Court gave out... one cordless Panasonic phone, one lens cleaning set, one camera pouch, one camera stand, one additional Samsung rechargable battery, one SD card reader for my PC, and another 128 SD memory card!! Can't believe my ears when the staff simply
rattle off the free gifts he's gonna offer me!! Haha!! So in the end, that pissing off was a blessing in disguise! Have to count my good fortune!!

First day at my new job at New Balance... Although its quite a decent job, however working today only makes me missed my old job more...
Miss my ex-colleagues....
Miss the lunch-break we had in our small but fully-equipped pantry...
Miss the countless jokes and experience sharing we had in that 1 hr of break...
Miss my supervisior Heng Wah patient impartment of knowledge and skill to me...
Miss Lynda's constant worrying of her precious daughter education and welfare...
Miss Elain's crazy antics...
Miss Gigi's understanding and knowledable insights on all topics you can think of...
Miss Ms Tan's ridculous principles on life...
Miss being allowed to MSNing during office hours...
Miss the personal washroom...
Miss the private transport...
Miss the basin inside the pantry...
Miss everything about Britoil Offshore...
Haiz... Hopefully its just a first-day job blues and things will be better as time passes.
Having lunch alone sure isn't a good feeling...
Having to walk a distant to get to a public washroom sure isn't convenient...
Having no basin in pantry to wash my cup sure is troublesome...
Having no private transport sure is costly...
Having no one to talk to during work sure is boring...
Having to do mundane stuff like filing and data entry is an insult to my capabilities...
Man... why did I choose this job in the first place?!?!?!
Because its a new challenge that I want to tackle...
Because its an industry I'm really interested in...
Because I need more exposure...
Because my job agent is too nice to reject her...
Because I want to prove New Balance wrong for not hiring me 2 months ago...
Because I want to prove that Britoil has been a great training ground for me...
Because I do not want to disappoint Heng Wah for her teachings...
Because I need to break away from my comfort zone...
Because I know this is the right path...
So I must bite hard and carry on... I must have faith that a paradise is awaiting at the end of the tunnel... I must be strong and I must be happy... Not just for myself, but also to all the people who I love and who also love me.

Went to see a YGM performance yesterday. Great show!! The violin concerto conducted by Mr Wu Jia Long was solid and added a bt of class to the whole show. The band was pretty cool and the percussion and broomstick item was a good wannabe of the Tap Dog. The highlight of the show was probably the testimonial by Wang Jian Fu (aka Jeff Wang of TCS and 1999 Star Search winner fame). Encouraging? Not quite. Entertaining? Definitely. As a professional artisit, Jeff sure knows how to capture the audiences attention with his smooth rendition of his testiomonial, peppered with funny self-depreciating comments. At the end of the show, was surprised to hear Jeff sing, May I Love You, which was really good (althought we Phinz still beats him!! HAHA!! Bleah..)
However, for me, the one item that was to be the best was the sketch put up by the FD. Although it can never be stage drama standard, it was a performance make-and-done totally by our Soka youth and the efforts they put in and the kind of energy they showed personified the whole idea of holding the YGM, to show the passion and youthfulness of our Soka youth members. Luurvve it!!
Happy to see Yixiang coming to YGM. Was amazed that Red actually managed to persuade him to come. Although he leave mid-way through the show, I hope that a seed has already been planted into his heart.
Today will be my last performance for the YGM. Hopefully our Jurong Zone item can put up a heart-warming show for all the audience. All the new friends I'm bringing in (Lydia, Evvone, Roy, Weibin, Heng Liong and Choon Guan) and Soka friends (Ben and Hui Hsien) will be there supporting me. Hopefully I will not disappoint them.
8:47 AM
Yeah!! First Phinz outing today!! Finally all the Phinz members are present for a outing!! Went to watch Chicken Little at Plaza Singapura. Many thanks to Ben for his wisdom and efforts to booked the tickets at PS 8.30pm instead of Bugis at 8pm, 'cause by the end of the DMK we had at SYC, its already 7.30pm.
Rush down to SYC for the DMK only to realise that Hui Hsien was only doshi for the 1st half which I was unable to rush there in time to see. Haiz, 2nd time missed it liao... Haha!! And then ask her how's her trip to Genting and she actually replied not as fun... diao!! Oh, and who can forget the nicely chopped durian cakes she brought for us, only for them to be stick together like muay chee!!
But eating in this manner has a unique taste and feeling to it!! Haha!! Thanks, Hui Hsien for your durian cakes, peanuts and cattlefish crackers!!
Happy to see Peiyih's mood has turned for the better although can still see that her eyes are still a bit swollen from all the crying and traces of unhappiness was visible during DMK. But her mood was definitely good after the movie. So I guessed the Phinz outing came at just the right time. Guys, we should have more Phinz outing!! Love it man!!
P.S. To all my friends, if see you see any of the very cute 3-eyes-hairy-baby-alien soft toys in the chicken little movie, pls kindly inform me!! I like to get one for myself!! haha!!
1:37 AM
Performed my first of the 3 scheldued day for YGM. Happy to know that the performance went pretty smoothly. But I'm most happy to know that friends like Leona and her friend Yichao, Wan Chew, Red and his friends, Alvin, Peiyih and Sihui went to support me. (Okay... maybe a bit thick-skinned!! Haha!! They most prob went to support the whole RHQ3 performance and then 顺便 support me!!) Really happy to see so many audiences leave the performance with a big smile on their face! Gald that I'm doing my bits for bringing happiness of so many people!!
Went to Tampines's DBS Centre with Peiyih to see her friend Xiao Jun who is working at Home-Fix as a promoter. In the end, me and Peiyih went window shopping while we wait for Xiao Jun for her break and then together we went to ..... to have dinner. (so sorry! I simply cannot remember what that place called!! haha!!) Later, we waited for another hour as Xiao Jun went back to work and we waited for her to knock off. During this moment, me and Peiyih was simply sitting down, talking... haha!! When Xiao Jun finally knock off, we went to a nearby S-11 and ordered desserts and chit-chat. (This is when Peiyih make a call, and for the first time, I saw her cried... Feel really sad for her but its good that she recovered soon after. Jia you orh Peiyih!! We will be your pillars in your troubled times. We are all just a call or a msg away from you.)
Send Peiyih back home, but not before going to the pasar malam at JP. Was sharing a packet muay chee with her when we bumped into Shuwen!! Haha!! She look so different from when she returned from USA just before the YCF. Much thinner now and I almost cannot recognised her!! HAHA!! Still prefers the Shuwen I knew during YCF... She was sharing with us how wonderful is the YGM performances at the 7pm slot. or shall I said how good the J3 were... haha!! Hope that they will have videos for all the YGM performances... like to go to those that I've missed...
1:00 AM
Today's entry is special. I'm actually blogging in Joey's room!! Haha!! Staying over at Joey's place tonight with Ben and Red after our karaoke session at cuppage's Party World. Still prefer K-box, as the songs are more updated and the sound system I think are much better.
Not much happening today. Was supposed to go to ICA today with Leona and help out in the YGM door-gifts, but apparently they finished it ahead of scheldue. So in the end meet up with Ben, Red and Joey for karaoke.
Some contents of this blog entry has been cancelled due to request. Sorry for any unhappiness i might have cause...
(Leona, just like to let you know that no matter what happen, I will always believe you and will always be there for you when you need a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. I know you are feeling down because of untrue accusation directed against you in the worst possible manner, but please be ensure that your true friends like me and the rest will be behind you all the way and that you should not get too upset over the incident. Because, getting upset will be falling into that bitch's trap. Please stay strong and looking forward to clubbing with you at Zoukout!!)
